| Stream slot | One ingest endpoint inside a project, with its own stream key. |
| Access code | The passcode you share so viewers can watch the stream. |
| Playout | Sending the video out to your viewers. |
| Monitor link | A private playout link to watch the stream on a reference monitor or decoder. |
| Latency | The short delay between sending and seeing the picture. With dfine.io it stays under one second. |
| Bitrate | The data rate of the stream. It affects both quality and stability, and your plan sets a maximum. |
| Adaptive bitrate | The bitrate adjusts to how stable the viewer’s connection is. |
| Codec | The method used to compress and decompress video, for example H.264 or VP8. |
