# Where do I set a file to Approved?

> The status badge WIP, In Review, Needs Approval or Approved sits in the notes dialog of the project file table, not in the viewer.

The status of a file sits in the project's file table, so the whole team sees it in the list.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the project">
    Find the file in its project. Its current badge shows next to it: **WIP**, **In Review**, **Needs Approval** or **Approved**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Notes">
    Click **Open menu** on the file's row and choose **Notes**. The status is set here, not in the viewer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set Approved">
    Click **Approved**, add a note if you like, and click **Save**. The badge in the file list changes for everyone.

**A new cut.** Add it as a new version to the file's stack under **Versions** in the row menu, and compare it with the one before.
