# Where do I find a room's stream key and server URL?

> In Review the stream key belongs to a source in a conferencing room. Add a source and copy its Server URL and Stream Key.

In Review the stream key belongs to a **Source** in a conferencing room. Every source carries its own **Stream Key** next to the **Server URL**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the room">
    Open **Conferencing** in the sidebar. On the room, pick **Manage** to open **Edit Room**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a source">
    Go to the **Sources** tab and click **Add Source**. Choose **Livestreaming** for WHIP, which dfine.io Studio uses, or **Livestreaming (RTMPS)** for an encoder that only speaks RTMPS. Both tiers are compared on [Technical facts](/en/reference/technical-facts).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy the values">
    The source shows a **Server URL** and a **Stream Key**. **Copy Stream Key** copies the key. dfine.io Studio needs only the key, a hardware encoder needs both.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Quick Create** on the **Conferencing** page makes a room with a WHIP source in one click.

<Warning>
  Treat the stream key like a password. Anyone who has it can publish into your room as that source. Remove the source to revoke it.
