# dfine.io Desktop

> Stream your edit or grade straight out of Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, without a screen recorder in between.

dfine.io Desktop takes the picture from your editing or grading application and sends it to your clients as a live stream. No screen recording, no second machine, no scaling in between. What leaves your timeline is what they see.

The app runs on macOS and talks to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve through a small plugin that you install from inside the app.

## How it is built

The app has three tabs, and they follow the path your picture takes.

## Before you start

You need the plugin for your application installed. The app does that for you: open **Settings**, go to **Plugin Sources**, and install the one you need. Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve Studio are supported.

<Note>
  DaVinci Resolve needs the **Studio** version. The free version does not load OpenFX plugins from other vendors, so the picture cannot be picked up there.

After installing, restart the host application once. Both Premiere and Resolve read their plugin folders at launch, so a running instance will not find a plugin that arrived after it started.

## Set up your source
